Autumn Eco Council Pupil Voice

I asked the Autumn term reps for some feedback about their role and here’s what they said. We will discuss how to make sure we listen to, and act upon, their suggestions.  

What have you enjoyed about being on Eco Council?

I have enjoyed working with other schools. I liked getting together with other students who care about the school’s environment. I enjoyed welcoming Howe Dell. I liked making webs with string in the forest and visiting Nursery. Looking after nature and the environment. Representing my class. Making our own badges. Checking light switches in class.

What could we do to improve Eco Council?

Promote recycling more – use the bins better on the playground. Do more trips. I think we should do more outside. Have longer meetings. Stay on Eco Council for longer. Pick up litter.

How would you sum up Eco Council in one word?

Brilliant Fun Amazing Fabulous Calm Fantastic Encouraging Awesome Useful Eco-tastic!

Eco Council visit to Res

Eco Council visited Res today. They had a long walk across the fields to get there! They then learned about renewable technologies and had an exciting tour of the site- they saw the massive wind turbine, solar panels and a battery operated car!

New Eco Council reps

This term’s Eco council reps were welcomed into their new role by the Autumn term reps who talked to them about what the role involved. It was lovely to see them working together.

New School Council Reps

Autumn term school council met with the new, Spring term school council reps today to hand over. They spoke about what their roles involve and explained how much they enjoyed taking part in whole school decisions.
The new reps were then set their first task – to run a competition to design a new ‘welcome mat’ for the entrance to school. We also discussed upcoming events which they’ll be involved in organising. They were delighted to receive their brand new school council badges!

What have you enjoyed about being on School Council?

I enjoyed visiting the Houses of Parliament. Representing my class and asking our class for ideas. Being able to give my class a say in what goes on around school. Asking the class questions. Asking my class for ideas for charities. Having lots of meetings. Interviewing the music band. I enjoyed going back to our class and getting ideas and sharing them together.

What could we do to improve School Council?

We could help run an assembly. If we could be School Council rep for a whole year! Staying in School Council for a year.  Speak in assembly. Do an assembly to show what we really do. Visit other schools. Nothing.

How would you sum up School Council in one word?

Awesome. Opportunities. Amazing. Proud. Fun. Enjoyable. Flabbergasting. Magnificent. Phenomenal. Exciting.
